Entry 8: When Aryn returns home...

This is going to be a short one...
I got home yesterday about 12:30ishin the afternoon.  I was able to take a small walk outside and I hope go get several walls in today.
I'm definitely in some sort of "what did I do to myself" stage.
My main goals today are water, protein, and movement.

Entry 16: 6 months post-op, 80 lbs lost

Today I had my 6 month gastric sleeve post-op appointment and so far I've lost 80 lbs.  I've had a few sweet friends who are readers of my blog ask me how I've been doing in these past three months since I've posted and for those of you who have been wondering, I'll update you here!  The truth of it all is... . Entry 13--4 weeks post op, 31 lbs down

I'm 4 weeks post op now and 31 pounds down.  It's been fun to have to go through my closet to figure out what still fits and what doesn't fit.  It's funny how my mind thinks an article of clothing will be too small and then when I put it on I find that it is actually too big.  Work is going well, I think my body is adjusting to the long days, in fact on most days I seem to have more energy in the evening than I did last school year.  Food- wise I 've progressed to the "soft food" diet, which means anything I can eat with a fork (but not cut with the side of our fork like we Midwesterners are so good at).   In two more weeks I should be able to start trying small amounts of "normal" food again.

Entry 4: When Aryn got a surgery date!

I'm super excited to say that I have a surgery date!!  July 8th!  It's unfortunate that it is my first contract day back, but I know that it will all work out just fine.  Ultimately my students and colleagues will have a healthier teacher working with them and that's a GREAT thing.  From listening to doctors and experiences of others, I think I will be "out" from work for 2 weeks.  My hysterectomy was similar incision- wise so two weeks sounds about right to me.  I'm going to work on walking every day over the next few weeks in hopes that my recovery will be the best it can be. I had a dream that someone told me I was taking the easy way out.  Obviously it must be a doubt/worry that whispers at me, otherwise I don't think it would be a dream that left an impression on me.  When I woke up that morning I thought about how I felt about people who might think that ... or WILL think that.  Then I thought about my issues...
